She was very active in 4-H in her home town of Overbrook KS. Kris and Hailey first met at a 4-H conference in 2007. After graduating from Santa Fe Trail High School, she received a Bachelors in Animal Sciences and Industry with minors in Entrepreneurship and Biology from Kansas State University in 2014. She then graduated Veterinary School at KSU in 2018.
Her career began as a mixed animal veterinarian in South East Kansas right out of school and she soon found a love for the area. House/farm calls became a common request and the essentially birth of the house call/farm call practice.
Favorite local activities are hiking and kayaking at the Elk City lake as well as enjoying some of the wonderful businesses in Independence. Other hobbies include, gardening, running, shotgun sports, and fostering/adopting sight-hounds.
Specific veterinary interests include; geriatric care; orthopedics; medicine and equine as well as small animal dentistry.

After graduating from Herington High school, Kris started his higher education at Pittsburg State before transferring to Kansas State and graduating with a degree in Business Management in 2013.
While Dr. Mueller was finishing up vet school, he was a manager at a Vets First Choice, A online veterinary pharmacy company. Since moving to Independence he has enjoyed working as a commercial crop applicator and making connections with area farmers.
Kris enjoys woodworking and home improvement projects, running, lawn care, shotgun sports, and of course greyhounds.
Kris' favorite aspect of veterinary medicine is developing relationships with both people and their pets.

Katie’s furry family members include her dogs Freddie, Anne, and her cat Phoebe! She has experience in small animal practice and is excited to continue to gain more large animal knowledge.
